The Cookpole Café is open to all on the last Thursday of each month, except in December when the date is Thursday 13th December 2018. It runs from 12 - 2.00 in the Community Pavilion, Walpole Playing Field, with a delicious menu of home made soup, filled or plain rolls, tea and coffee and scrumptious cake!
The café is organised by volunteers from the Good Neighbours who set up the tables with cloths and flowers to lend a country café atmosphere. Usually a group also joins us from Vision in Halesworth, the Mencap workshop. A visit to their excellent shop in the corner of the Market Square is highly recommended for wooden furniture, bird boxes and home accessories. We hope they get to work with renewed energy after a slice of home-made cake!
If you haven't yet tried the Café, why not come along to sample the fare and have a chat with your neighbours.
How it all began!

The Cookpole Cafe
The Good Neighbours volunteers have taken up with enthusiasm an initiative from Age Concern to offer a regular opportunity for older residents to get together and enjoy coffee, tea and cakes or perhaps soup and a sandwich. The idea has been warmly received by those we have talked to and so on Thursday 25 June there will be the first opening of the COOKPOLE CAFE in the Walpole Pavilion from 10 am to 12.00 when coffee, tea and cakes will be served. After that we hope to run the café each month on a Thursday at a time chosen by our guests - for morning coffee, light lunch or afternoon tea. It will provide a much needed chance to chat with local friends or make new ones in the lovely, relaxed setting of our pavilion. In future this idea could develop as a drop-in café for any local resident. There will be a nominal charge for refreshments to cover costs. So put it in your diary now - COOKPOLE CAFÉ 10 am on Thursday 25 June!
